BMW hit with three recalls in one week: 520i braking system, iX3 curtain airbag, C EVOLUTION wiring

Between 24 and 27 July 2026 Korean regulators published three separate BMW recalls: the integrated braking system on the 520i and 8 other models, the curtain airbag on the iX3 50 xDrive, and electrical wiring terminals on the C EVOLUTION. Here are the affected models, defects and how to check yours.

For suppliers and exporters

  • Braking, airbags and electrics are the three highest-frequency recall systems in automotive — see defect patterns and self-check lists in our automotive recall guide;
  • Vehicle recalls frequently trigger traceback to component suppliers — comparable-part makers should check for shared designs or materials;
  • Add your products to Watches to be alerted the day similar recalls are published.
