DefectActros 963 and Arocs 964 models depending on the model designation up to two screws per installed axle bearing bracket may be missing. The axle bearing bracket guides the rear axle in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Spontaneous failure of the threaded connection can be ruled out. According to the Development department?? assessment loosening of the installed screws is possible at the earliest after approx. 600000 km.
RemedyAs part of the recall action it must be checked whether all specified threaded connections are present on the axle bearing brackets on the potentially affected vehicles. If not the missing threaded connections must be retrofitted and tightened to the specified torque.
