DefectOver time the contact surfaces of the high voltage battery safety plug may develop increased electrical resistance which could lead to overheating and melting. In some cases this may result in loss of drive power or in rare instances a fire. Affected vehicles may display a warning lamp and the message ??heck Electric Vehicle System?? along with a melted plastic odour and/or visible smoke.
RemedyReplacing the existing safety plug with a fuse box.
