DefectBraun Industries, Inc. (Braun Ambulances) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Demers FXP174 ambulances. The floor may have insufficient strength to secure the seats in position during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."_x000D_ Structural failure may prevent the seat from properly restraining an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
RemedyThe remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed March 9, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Braun Ambulances' customer service at 1-800-363-7591. Braun Ambulances number for this recall is 2026-1.
