Hazard descriptionThe plastic material of the sandals has an excessive concentration of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and di-‘isononyl’ phthalate (DINP) (measured values up to 28.4%, 0.4% and 0.2% by weight, respectively) and of lead and cadmium (measured values up to 1.2 mg/kg and 0.8 mg/kg, respectively). DBP and DEHP may harm the health by causing possible damage to the reproductive system, while DINP may cause possible damage to the reproductive system and liver.
