DefectSome of the affected vehicles may exhibit a right-hand side front halfshaft failure due to an internal fracture of the in board joint (IBJ) spider. This condition can be associated with an over-rotated IBJ boot and may result in the halfshaft no longer transmitting drive to the right-hand wheel. In affected vehicles, customers may complain of noise and/or vibration, followed by a loss of drive where the vehicle will no longer move.
