| Defect | A safety recall is being conducted on six affected CBR600RR units due to the possibility of excessive engine oil consumption. Affected engines may have an incorrectly machined cylinder surface. Continued operation with a low engine oil level may cause a loss of oil pressure, connecting rod bearing seizure and connecting rod failure. This may result in the rear wheel locking. If engine oil is discharged onto the hot exhaust system, there is also a risk of fire. |
