| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the Advanced Connected Energy (ACE) chip within the starter battery may corrode. This may cause an electrical short circuit while the vehicle is in operation and/or parked, leading to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorized Daimler Truck dealership immediately to schedule an appointment to have the recall carried out, free of charge. |
