DefectOn certain trucks, water could leak into the exterior tailgate switch. As a result, the tailgate could unlatch and open unexpectedly while parked. If this happens, cargo that is not secured could fall out of the truck bed and onto the road when the vehicle is moving._x000D_ Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a power-locking tailgate. This recall is an expansion of GM recall no. N232426400 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-061._x000D_ Cargo that falls from the truck bed could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

RemedyGeneral Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the exterior tailgate switch. To reduce the safety risk, General Motors recommends that you should inspect the tailgate to ensure it's closed and latched before driving.
