DefectOn certain vehicles, the circlips that secure the piston(s) to the connecting rod(s) may be missing or may not have been installed properly. As a result, the piston(s) could become damaged and cause the engine to fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels._x000D_ Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 2.3 L engine._x000D_ A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

RemedyNone of the affected vehicles have been delivered to customers. Ford will instruct dealers to inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine before each vehicle is delivered.
