| Defect | Friction can cause the clutch pressure plate to overheat, which can lead the pressure plate to break unexpectedly. The breaking of a pressure plate can form cracks or holes in the transmission housing, from which heated debris can escape. Heated debris expelled from the transmission mounting can come into contact with a source of ignition in the vehicle or in the surroundings, which can cause a fire. |
