DefectDue to insufficient design review in the diagnostic program of the on-board diagnostic system for the DME (Digital Motor Electronics, an electronic control unit that oversees the entire engine control system), diagnostic information may not be saved in memory and may be lost when an abnormality related to the variable valve mechanism (Valvetronic) is detected. Furthermore, if failures of related parts such as oxygen sensors are detected simultaneously, their diagnostic information may also be lost, and the warning light may not illuminate.
