DefectIn the Electric Parking Brake (EPB), due to a manufacturing defect in internal components, the system may detect overcurrent when operating/releasing, causing the brake system to stop. As a result, there is a risk of insufficient braking force or brake drag. Additionally, the EPB warning lamp (orange) on the meter cluster will illuminate, but if the vehicle is driven without noticing the brake drag, the brakes may overheat, and in the worst case, surrounding parts may catch fire.
ComponentBraking system (Electric Parking Brake (EPB))
RemedyFor all vehicles, replace the EPB with an improved part. If there are signs of brake drag, replace the brake assembly.
