DefectDue to inappropriate painting instructions for the pivot bolt tightening seat surface on the gear change pedal, some of these seat surfaces have thick paint. If the paint deforms due to heat from the exhaust pipe's catalytic converter, the bolt may loosen. If gear shifting operations are repeated, the bolt may fall off, causing the change pedal to detach and making it impossible to shift gears.
ComponentControl device (gear change pedal pivot bolt)
RemedyFor all vehicles, remove the paint from the pivot bolt tightening seat surface and replace the pivot bolt with an improved part.
