DefectIn the software of the airbag control unit for right-hand drive vehicles, due to an improper manufacturing process, it contains a door pressure sensor identification program for left-hand drive specifications. As a result, in the event of a side impact, the side airbag signals for the driver and front passenger seats may not be processed correctly, and the intended airbag deployment may not occur, potentially leading to occupant injury in the worst case.
ComponentOccupant protection system (airbag control unit)
RemedyFor all vehicles, rewrite the airbag control unit software to the right-hand drive specification program.
