DefectDue to insufficient assembly instructions for the cowl louver to the vehicle body, rainwater, etc., may drip from the water-stop seal area onto the brake booster. As a result, rust may form on the brake booster, and if used continuously in that state, the rust will progress rapidly, and in the worst case, a hole may form in the brake booster, increasing the brake pedal operating force and potentially lengthening the braking distance.
ComponentOther (Cowl louver)
RemedyAll vehicles will have their brake booster inspected, and one of the following corrective actions will be taken. ① If there is no rust or only minor rust, an anti-rust agent will be applied. ② If extensive rust caused by dripping rainwater, etc., is found at the lower end of the brake booster, in addition to applying an anti-rust agent, the cowl louver's water-stop seal will be replaced with an improved part. ③ If the rust has progressed, causing peeling or a hole, the brake booster will be replaced with a new one, and the cowl louver's water-stop seal will be replaced with an improved part.
