DefectThe voltage regulator wiring may rub against the crankcase, and in such cases, over time, the wire insulation may wear out, exposing the wires and potentially causing a ground short circuit. This could lead to the 60-amp main fuse opening, resulting in a loss of propulsion and all electrical power without prior warning to the rider, increasing the risk of an accident, hence the recall.

RemedyInspect the regulator wire routing and for damage. Reroute the wiring to prevent it from rubbing against the vehicle body. If damaged, repair the wiring using recall kit (part number: 91500119) and secure its position.
