DefectManufacturing deviations may have occurred in the production process of high-voltage batteries installed in some vehicles produced/imported during a specific period. This could lead to microscopic defects in the cell anode or localized stress in the cell separator layer. In rare cases, this could increase the risk of injury to occupants and bystanders due to smoke or fire caused by high heat generation during high-voltage battery charging, leading to a recall.

RemedyUntil further notice, prohibit charging the high-voltage battery using an external power source and prohibit the use of e-tron mode (battery charging and battery maintenance). If a warning light illuminates, inspect the vehicle at an official service center and replace the high-voltage battery if necessary. [*Software update scheduled for implementation (expected in the first half of 2025)]
