DefectRecall due to the possibility that crankcase fixing bolts may have been tightened with a higher torque value than specified due to worker negligence, in which case the crankshaft metal bearings may seize, causing abnormal noise and the engine may stall.

RemedyFor affected vehicles, inspect the crankshaft metal bearings for damage. If damaged, replace the metal bearings and re-tighten the crankcase fixing bolts to the specified torque value. If there is no damage to the metal bearings, only re-tighten the crankcase fixing bolts to the specified torque value. (For the crankcase fixing bolt tightening work, both the bolts and copper washers will be provided as new parts).
