DefectVolvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Volvo 9700 buses. Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of chemical fire extinguishing agent in the engine compartment._x000D_ An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled coach bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

RemedyPrevost will inspect and remove any metallic debris from the AFSS connectors, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 3, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR25-85.
