Hazard descriptionThe heater does not meet the Australian standards for the maximum allowable carbon monoxide emission levels. Air channels above the burner deform when heated which can cause toxic levels of carbon monoxide to be emitted. There is a risk of serious illness, injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning if the heater is used indoors or in a poorly ventilated area.
RemedyStop using the affected heater immediately. If possible, consumers should turn off the gas supply to appliance. Consumers should contact Airatherm Pty Ltd with their name, site address, model number, and whether the model is indoor or outdoor, to arrange for a free replacement or rectification.
