Hazard descriptionDue to incorrect software calibration, the lithium-ion battery controller may not reliably detect battery cell anomalies. It may incorrectly identify faults because of electrical interference or fluctuations in circuit resistance. As a result, the system may switch to fail-safe mode while the vehicle is being driven, limiting engine power and preventing charging. Under certain conditions, this could turn off the main relay and cause a loss of propulsion, meaning the vehicle may come to a stop while in motion, increasing the risk of an accident.
