Defect	Production influences can lead to increased wear in the solenoid switch on affected vehicles after a large number of starting operations. This impairs the engine's starting capability. Under certain circumstances, it may no longer be possible to start the engine. In addition, a short circuit in the solenoid switch cannot be ruled out, which can lead to local overheating of the starter motor. In this case, BMW AG recommends not using the “Remote Engine Start” function via the My BMW App or the radio-operated key until the repair has been carried out.
