DefectUnder certain operating conditions, the factory routing of the right-hand rear brake air line sits near the exhaust tailpipe. Continued exposure to radiant exhaust heat may cause the nylon air line to degrade over time. If the airline wears or splits, a loss of air pressure in the rear brake circuit will occur, illuminating the low-air warning indicator and buzzer on the dashboard. While primary braking remains functional, reduced rear braking performance may increase the risk of an incident.
