Defect	In the vehicles concerned, water can penetrate at certain points on the starter motor and cause damage. It may then no longer be possible to start the engine. This may also result in a short circuit or the starter motor becoming permanently activated. This may result in localised overheating of the starter motor or thermal overload of surrounding components. At worst, this may result in a vehicle fire. This can also occur when the vehicle is parked. BMW AG strongly recommends that you park your vehicle outdoors but not in the immediate vicinity of buildings until the repair is carried out…
