DefectIn low-pressure fuel pumps installed in vehicles designated for unleaded premium gasoline, an inappropriate inspection fluid used during pump operation inspection can penetrate the resin impeller, reducing its strength and causing cracks. Repeated thermal cycles can cause these cracks to progress, and the impeller may swell due to fuel, contacting the pump cover and leading to malfunction. In the worst case, the engine may stop while driving and become unable to restart.
