DefectIn low-pressure fuel pumps installed in vehicles designated for unleaded premium gasoline, due to an inappropriate inspection fluid used during pump operation checks, the inspection fluid can penetrate the impeller (resin vane wheel), leading to a decrease in strength and the formation of cracks. Consequently, repeated cycles of heating and cooling can cause the impeller cracks to propagate, swell due to fuel, and come into contact with the pump cover, leading to malfunction. In the worst case, the engine may stop while driving and become unable to restart.

RemedyFor all affected vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump will be replaced with an improved part.
