| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) may have not been welded to the required specifications. As a result, the SCCM could fail to send an airbag deployment signal to the Occupant Restraint Controller preventing the driver's airbag from deploying. In the event of an accident, the airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised RAM dealer to have the SCCM inspected and replaced, free of charge. Owners of affected vehicles will also be contacted in writing by RAM Australia. |
