| Defect | Due to a software issue, the parking assist control unit in the vehicle that detects obstructions when reversing may not operate as intended. If the obstruction while reversing the vehicle is not detected, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle. |
| Remedy | Once the revised calibration update is available, Mazda will contact owners of affected vehicles asking them to schedule an appointment to update the software, free of charge. |
