DefectDue to a manufacturing defect, the engine crankcase clamping retainers may have been overtightened. This could result in seizure of the crankshaft bearing material, abnormal noise and engine stalling leading to a sudden loss of motive power whilst riding. A loss of motive power whilst riding increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to rider and/or passenger and other road users.
RemedyOwners of affected vehicles should contact their authorised Kawasaki dealer to have the vehicle inspected and repaired, free of charge.
