DefectDue to a software programming issue, a memory device in the Combination Meter may deteriorate over time. If this occurs, the Combination Meter display may remain blank when the vehicle starts. This will cause a failure to illuminate the visual indicators, display of vehicle speed, engine status, and other critical safety information. Inability to determine the speed of the vehicle could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
RemedyLexus will contact affected owners with an interim notification advising of this safety recall. Once the software update becomes available, Lexus will again contact affected owners requesting them to make an appointment at their preferred Lexus dealer for rectification, free of charge.
