DefectDue to a manufacturing defect, the mounting bolts connecting the camshaft retainer plate may not be sufficiently tightened. As a result, the camshaft retainer plate could become loose causing the engine to stall and fail to restart. A loss of motive power whilst riding could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to the rider and/or passenger, or other road users.
RemedyOwners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Yamaha requesting them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
