| Defect | Due to a manufacturing issue, the cell modules installed in the high voltage battery may be defective, which could cause a thermal overload leading to a vehicle fire. Additionally, this may cause reduction in driving range._x000D_ A warning light (check engine) may illuminate on the instrument cluster. A reduction in driving range and/or vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles can contact their preferred CUPRA dealership to schedule an appointment as soon as possible to have the software update carried out, free of charge._x000D_ Until the repair is completed, CUPRA asks consumers to limit the charging capacity to 80% charge, refrain from charging the high-voltage battery using an external charging source and park the vehicle outdoors to maintain a sufficient distance from property and/or other vehicles. |
