DefectDue to improper manufacturing control at the B terminal of the starter generator, some units may have a gap between the sleeve and the lead frame. As a result, the connection may loosen, resistance may increase, the B terminal may abnormally overheat, and a warning light may illuminate, potentially leading to a fire in the worst case. Alternatively, the engine may stop while driving, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
ComponentCharging system (starter generator)
RemedyReplace the starter generator with a good one on all affected vehicles. Additionally, inspect the B terminal of the starter generator and the B+ cable connection, and replace the B+ cable if necessary.
