DefectAmong replacement parts for the driver's airbag inflator (inflation device), some have inadequate moisture prevention for the gas generant. Therefore, if the inflator is replaced during vehicle repair and continues to be used as is, the gas generant may deteriorate due to repeated large temperature changes in a high-humidity environment, and the inflator container may rupture when the airbag deploys.
ComponentAirbag system (inflator)
RemedyFor all vehicles, the airbag inflator will be inspected, and if it is an affected inflator, it will be replaced with a countermeasure part.
