DefectDue to an error in the manufacturing process, the rivet insert of the hood striker may have been insufficiently assembled. In such a case, when driving at speeds exceeding 150 kilometers per hour, a gap may occur between the hood and the bumper, allowing air to enter. The resulting gap can cause the latch mechanism to disengage, leading to the hood striker detaching from the hood. If this occurs, the engine hood may open while driving, obstructing the driver's vision, and if it detaches from the vehicle, the risk of an accident may increase, prompting this recall.
ComponentBody/Chassis - Other
RemedyInspect the engine hood striker and replace the striker bracket if necessary.
