DefectDue to a design flaw in the fixing bolt at the rear of the restraint system rail, the fixing bolt may break in the event of a rear-end collision. In such a case, the restraint system rail may not deform as intended during design and could damage the detached rear seatback, increasing the risk of injury to occupants, leading to a recall.

RemedyFor vehicles that have not completed the corrective action initiated on August 22, 2024, add a washer and replace with a fixing bolt that has increased robustness and length. For vehicles that have already completed the corrective action (added a washer and replaced with a shorter fixing bolt), replace with a fixing bolt that has increased robustness and length.
