Mercedes-Benz eSprinter rear axle drivetrain gearwheel weld seam may be weak

CountryNew Zealand
CategoryAutomotive
Published2025-03-20
Models affectedSPRINTER
Model year2024
DefectOn certain eSprinter (907 platform) vehicles, the weld seam of a gearwheel inside the rear axle drivetrain might not meet strength requirements. In this case, the transmission load in the rear axle drive train might no longer be ensured. As a result, the vehicle might lose its propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the parking lock might not function as intended. Safe parking of the vehicle would still be ensured by the parking brake, but local legal requirements might not be met.
