Porsche Panamera car's wiring harness not adapted, affecting airbag control unit

CountryNew Zealand
CategoryAutomotive
Published2025-10-10
Models affectedPANAMERA
Model year2025-2026
DefectOn right-hand drive vehicles, the wiring harness between the door pressure sensor and the airbag control unit was not adapted for the specific vehicle layout. Instead of mirroring the left-hand drive configuration, the same layout was copied. This results in incorrect pin assignment. As a consequence, the driver-side side airbag may deploy with delay (and the passenger-side side airbag may deploy incorrectly).
RemedyTo ensure correct functioning, we will adapt the trigger strategy using a changed data record and re-code the airbag control unit with a software update.
