| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the chassis wiring harness may come in contact with the engine side cover, engine side cover bracket or cabin arch. As a result, the wiring could become damaged and cause a short circuit. In a worst-case scenario, this may result in a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property. |
| Remedy | Replacement parts will not be available until late August 2024. When parts are available, HMSA will write to vehicle owners by priority mail inviting them to make an appointment with their nearest Hino Dealer to have the vehicle inspected and rectified, free of charge. |
