| Defect | Due to a manufacturing defect, the tow bar hitch may not have been welded to the required specifications and could detach from the tow bar whilst driving._x000D_ Note: Whilst towing a caravan/trailer, it would remain attached to the tow vehicle if the safety chains have been correctly fitted. If the tow bar hitch detaches from the vehicle whilst towing, it could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to other road users and bystanders. |
| Remedy | Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Ford Motor Company Australia asking them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge. |
