DefectDue to insufficient strength analysis for the bolts fastening the fixed rail for securing luggage in the luggage compartment to the vehicle body, when the rear of the vehicle is impacted in a collision, the bolt securing the rearmost part of the fixed rail may break and the fixed rail may be pushed forward. This could cause the fixed rail to contact occupants in the rear seats, potentially causing injury.

RemedyFor all affected vehicles, the rear bolts of the fixed rail will be replaced with improved parts, and dedicated washers will be newly added.
