DefectIn the lithium-ion battery controller, due to an inappropriate control program, the battery charge status may not be accurately determined. As a result, the lithium-ion battery gauge displayed on the meter may repeatedly fluctuate, and if driving continues in this state, the e-POWER system warning light may illuminate. In the worst case, the battery may be incorrectly determined to be low, leading to a stop in power output to the drive motor and potentially rendering the vehicle unable to drive.
ComponentElectrical system (lithium-ion battery controller)
RemedyFor all affected vehicles, check the control program part number of the lithium-ion battery controller and rewrite the applicable ones with the updated program.
