DefectIn the battery cells of the drive battery, due to an improper assembly process of the electrode sheet and separator, some electrode sheets are partially deformed. Consequently, the deformed part of the electrode sheet may damage the separator, causing an internal short circuit in the battery cell, which may lead to the drive battery overheating and, in the worst case, a fire.
ComponentElectrical system (drive battery)
RemedyFor all vehicles, the control program of the drive battery control module will be updated, and a countermeasure program with a self-diagnosis function will be installed. If the countermeasure program detects an abnormality in the drive battery, the drive battery will be replaced with a good one.
