DefectDue to a manufacturing issue, the second-row seat frame mid-bar may not have been manufactured to the required specifications. As a result, if a second-row seat is stowed when the other part of the bench seat is upright, the occupant could come into contact with the end of the seat frame mid-bar. In an event of an accident, if the rear seat occupants come into contact with the end of the seat frame mid-bar, it could increase the risk of serious injury.
RemedyToyota will contact affected owners in writing, requesting they make an appointment at their preferred Toyota dealer who will install the rear seatback protector, free of charge._x000D_ To find a local dealer, visit https://www.toyota.com.au/find-a-dealer_x000D_ For further information, consumers should contact the Toyota Recall Assist helpline on 1800 987 366 (Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm AEST / AEDT).
