DefectDue to a software issue in the skid control unit ECU, a higher pedal force may be required increasing the braking distance under certain driving conditions. A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident resulting in injury or death to vehicle occupants, and/or other road users.
RemedyOwners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Toyota, asking them to schedule an appointment with their preferred dealer to have the software updated, free of charge. To find a local dealer, visit https://www.toyota.com.au/find-a-dealer For further information, consumers should contact the Toyota Recall Assist helpline on 1800 987 366 (Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm AEST / AEDT).
