| Defect | Due to a manufacturing issue, the passenger airbag inflator may rupture in the event of airbag deployment. In the event of an airbag inflator rupture, compressed gas and metal fragments may be propelled through the airbag cushion towards the vehicle occupants, or damage to the airbag cushion or complete loss of airbag functionality may occur, causing serious injury or death. |
| Remedy | Owners of these affected vehicles will be contacted in writing requesting they contact an Authorised Ford Dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge._x000D_ For further information, contact any authorised Ford Dealer or Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 13 FORD (13 3673). |
