DefectIn the generator motor of e-POWER vehicles, due to improper management of the amount of insulating material (varnish) applied to the stator core, some units may have an insufficient amount of varnish applied. As a result, insulation failure may occur, leading to a decrease in insulation resistance. If use is continued, the e-POWER system warning light will illuminate, a warning message will be displayed, and the generator motor will stop generating power, cutting off power supply to the EV battery, which may cause the vehicle to become unable to drive.
ComponentElectrical system (generator motor)
RemedyFor all vehicles, check the serial number of the generator motor, and if it is an affected unit, replace it with a countermeasure part.
