DefectDue to a manufacturing defect, the passenger airbag may tear during deployment. This could cause hot gases to escape from the airbag and result in insufficient protection to the passenger. In the event of an accident, the airbag not deploying as intended and hot gas escaping towards the vehicle occupants could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.
RemedyOwners of affected vehicles should contact their Jaguar Land Rover to schedule an appointment to have the passenger airbag replaced, free of charge.
